MTV Movie Awards 2011

25 Jun

My new motto must be “better late than never”…

There’s a poll at the end of this post, don’t forget to VOTE!

Emma Watson wore Brian Atwood‘s signature Maniac pumps.

Both Emma Stone and Selena Gomez wore shoes by Casadei.

Kristen Stewart donned Christian Louboutin shoes (+ a dress by Balmain).

Amanda Bynes wanted to be seen…Louboutin was the right choice.

Reese Witherspoon played safe by choosing this pair of Louboutin.

Lindsey Vonn in a spectacular pair by Jimmy Choo.

Cameron Diaz is the winner for me, she wore a killer pair by Lanvin!

Nicki Minaj wore wedges by Gianmarco Lorenzi. No comment 🙂

Leighton Meester wore Pierre Hardy.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley wore wedge sandals by Sergio Rossi.

Which one is YOUR favourite?

Sergio meets Jimmy

2 Dec

Let me explain: this is not the title of a gay story. This is the title of a post which contains only Sergio Rossi and Jimmy Choo heels.

To start with, here are a few (okay: a lot of) ladies wearing those statement Sergio Rossi heels which may have been the biggest hit this summer.

Jackie Wilson’s “Higher and higher” jumps into my mind, use SR instead of “love”:

“Your love, lifting me higher
Than I’ve ever been lifted before
So keep it it up
Quench my desire
And I’ll be at your side, forever more

You know your love (your love keeps lifting me)
Keep on lifting (love keeps lifting me)
Higher (lifting me)
Higher and higher (higher)
I said your love (your love keeps lifting me)
Keep on (love keeps lifting me)
Lifting me (lifting me)
Higher and higher (higher)”

Talk shows provide a great opportunity to show what you’re wearing 🙂

Julie Bowen (Conan):

Leah Remini (Chelsea Lately):

To be honest, I’m not sure any more about these heels. I did like them for two or three months, but there has been an overload of them lately and I need to see something new. Let’s call it the “YSL T2 effect”.

Situation is different with Jimmy Choo. There are celebrities wearing “last season” JC shoes every now and then, but I don’t see them all the time, so I’m okay with that. “Private” and “Quiet” are great examples for that, while “Viola” is something new to my eyes.

“This style utilizes the feminine and sexy mix of soft leather and mesh to create a luxurious base for scattered Swarovski crystals in rich hues of gold or smoky quartz.”

Available in nude and anthracite, costs €1.245/$940, 12 cm heel.

“A favourite style on the red carpet. Make the ultimate statement with these fashion forward patent heels.”

Available in many-many colors, €695/$525, 12 cm heel.

“These iconic peep toe sandals in patent leather are bound to get you noticed.”

Available in red and black, €495/$375, 12 cm heel.

Have a nice weekend (Friday is basically weekend, isn’t t? 🙂 )!

Uniqueness vs. popularity: platforms

6 Jul

There haven’t been too many shoes by Roberto Cavalli on my blog, which makes this pair pretty unique:

15 cm heels,  4 cm platforms, € 745 (ca. $930) – definitely a nice design!

I’m a big fan of Charlotte Olympia‘s work, despite we can’t spot her shoes too often.

15,5 cm heels, 3,5 cm platforms, € 670(ca. $840) – it isn’t cheap either.

Talk about expensive and really high shoes; here’s Fendi‘s trademark pair of this summer:

Now it’s time for the über-popular shoes by Sergio Rossi. I’ve written about it here already, but now I had to feature these pairs in my post again since they have flooded the streets (or at least the red carpets):

I hope to be able to post on Thursday again, you might want to drop by 🙂

Special post – 200

2 Apr

This is the 200th post on this blog!

For this reason, I’ve decided to select four really special pair of shoes:

The conservative looking black peep toe pumps

have that certain plus that others don’t.

I actually like his work, his shoes are eye-catching.

Would you (be able to) wear it?

THIS lady wearing THESE heels? It just can’t get any better than this!

My next post will appear – as usual – on Sunday. Have a nice weekend!
