Out of this world

27 Oct

I hardly know where to start.

Okay, the first one to tell you should be the good news that a couple of work-related hard weeks are now behind me, I should be back to normal again and visit your great blogs again.

A few days ago I’ve seen a huge exhibition about the work of Martin Munkacsi, one of (fashion)photography’s greatest figures in history. Talk about inspiration and role models…

But let’s get to the point, let’s talk about shoes.

So, what’s new, you’d ask. Well…

There’s this pair by Brian Atwood. Usually, his name means something good, but these particular heels generate mixed feelings in me. To be honest, I’m not sure about this one. Needless to say, I’m more than okay with Cheryl‘s look.

His inspiration could have been either go-go heels (does the name Taylor Momsen ring any bells?) or Prada’s chandelier heels. This is something in between. Anyway, I’m not a fan of transparent plastic, it looks so cheap – of course, these shoes aren’t cheap at all, at least I don’t consider a pair of shoes for $1.300 cheap. the heels are 15 cm high while the platform is 3 cm.

To my female readers: I present you your next girl crush.

These Calvin Klein heels can make anyone 6’2″.

Gwyneth‘s pair is less high and it is much more sophisticated, isn’t it?

Oh look, Kate Hudson had to get rid of her heels (and apparently of her hair dresser)! She tries to keep up with Gwyneth anyway 🙂

It’s been almost exactly two years since I’ve started blogging, and this is designer René Caovilla‘s first appearance on my blog. Shame on me.

The first one is a fabulous pair of the Spring-Summer 2010 collection, worn here by Katherine Heigl (in two different colors):

The Swarovski-fever continues in the Fall-Winter 2010 collection:

The last pair of heels in this post has been posted some weeks ago already, but back then I had no idea who the designer was. Now I know the designer and the marvelous Tricia Helfer gave me a reason to post it again:

11,5 cm heels and a hefty price tag: $1162 (at LUISAVIAROMA).

Now it’s time for me to let you drool about these shoes. Bye-bye!

My last weekend was crazier than usual, I had no time to post the selection of last month’s best pictures.

Before you’d go on to see the pictures, I ask you to check out Tiffany’s post over at her blog “Yes…I’m a shoe whore” (opens in a new tab, no worries 🙂 ).

Thanks! Now, here we go with the pictures, enjoy!

New York Fashion Week – we all attended!

17 Sep

New York Fashion Week is over, London Fashion Week has already started.

Let’s take a look at famous ladies who attended various shows in the Big Apple.

(The Romantics After Party is not strictly FW related)

(Sorry NickY)

Which show did you enjoy the most?

The next post show appear on Sunday, but this weekend will be crazy for, I’m not sure if I’ll have the time to post. Until then, goodbye! 🙂

Uniqueness vs. popularity: platforms

6 Jul

There haven’t been too many shoes by Roberto Cavalli on my blog, which makes this pair pretty unique:

15 cm heels,  4 cm platforms, € 745 (ca. $930) – definitely a nice design!

I’m a big fan of Charlotte Olympia‘s work, despite we can’t spot her shoes too often.

15,5 cm heels, 3,5 cm platforms, € 670(ca. $840) – it isn’t cheap either.

Talk about expensive and really high shoes; here’s Fendi‘s trademark pair of this summer:

Now it’s time for the über-popular shoes by Sergio Rossi. I’ve written about it here already, but now I had to feature these pairs in my post again since they have flooded the streets (or at least the red carpets):

I hope to be able to post on Thursday again, you might want to drop by 🙂
