Gossip Girls

25 Sep

Finally I had some free time to post here again. There were so many things messed up with the apartment and the jobs, I had to focus on those things.

But now I’m able to post about new shoes (okay, a few days old by now). These new shoes were worn by some of the favourite actresses of many, or at least by actresses who have a role in one of the most popular show these days – Gossip Girl.

First, there is a love-it-or-hate-it pair:

Then, there is Ms Waldorf sporting one of the newest and superb looking ankle boot by the French magician:

Her best friend, Serena “I’mlookingfortrouble” van der Woodsen wore also a new pair made by Mr Louboutin:

Very spectacular shoes for sure, but it could have been an awkward situation to see the same pair worn by someone else at the very same event, which was the Marchesa Spring 2010 Collection Presentation.

At last I’d like to write about a girl/lady who doesn’t play in the series but who talks gossip a lot and is a real GG:

Speaking of Chanel, did you know that in London, even the lamp posts are by Chanel?

I’m not sure yet when I can check in again and answer your comments, but I really hope I’ll be able to do it tonight.

The flood

Today I feature a lot of shoes, because I’m drowning in the pictures of the fashion week in NYC. Some of these images are from the FW, some of them aren’t, but I have to post these now otherwise I’m not sure if I’ll ever have the time again to talk about these pairs.

To start with, here is Charlize Theron. I guess it’s clear for those who didn’t know about it yet that she is like the face of Dior, which means we can be quite sure what she’s wearing.

Good for you, Charlize 🙂

Dior has a very interesting idea about shoes this season, it’s clear they’ve wanted to come up with something spectacular. The Cartagena has a 4,7″ heel and costs $1260. Hey girls, Christmas isn’t that far away…

I don’t know much about the first shoe in this picture, but I know that the Drape booties have a lower, only 3,5″ heel and costs $1040. Alexis’ pumps have 4,3″ heels and the price is “only” $820. BTW, is Siriano cute or more like annoying?

Moving on from the land of Dior, it’s time for some more sophisticated pairs. Solid work again by Jimmy Choo:

The facts: the Karina sandals have 4,3″ heels and are surprisingly expensive, $1150. The Globe (that’s what you’ve been looking for InsideMode, right?) has 3,9″ heels and a price tag of $745, while Blake’s Lance sandals would cost you around $1000.

Now it’s time for the   c r a z y shoes:

How sick are these??? Brave fashionistas, go for them!

Last but not least, I’ve listed some more ankle boots/booties/shoe boots/cut out pumps:

Some of these are very chick, aren’t they?

The L.A.M.B. bootie is fitted with 4,5″ heels and have a quite good price of $355. Nicholas Kirkwood’s shoe boots have even higher heels, the highest of those that I’ve presented in this post, 5,5″ and it isn’t cheap either, $1020.

Among all the ankle boots I feature here, I have to admit that I like this Report Signature pair the most, it is simple but very cool in my opinion, plus the price isn’t horrible: $225. I still have to talk about Diane’s YSL pumps/booties, which have a 1,5″ platform (what a “surprise” from the brand) and 4,5″ heels. If you want one, you can it for $895. However, I’d advise you to look at those thin heels, it has “Pros only” written all over it…

Apropos, did you see who badly Joanna Garcia aka “Bree Buckley” walked in the first episode of the new season of Gossip Girl? Try to recall the part when she and Nate walk away from the helicopter. She should have asked for less high heels. You don’t want to look that bad, do you?

I hope I was able to make you feel like your shoe wardrobe wouldn’t be complete without this or that pair 🙂

Fashion icons?

I guess a lot of you watch films, series and scream sometimes like “Ohmygosh I neeeed that!” Of course, that might be the case with tops, dresses, bags, shoes, whatever. But because this blog is about shoes, let’s focus on them.

For this post, I have captured moments when shoes appear on the screen. To do so, I have selected the following two films and two series:

Breakfast at Tiffany’s” is a classic movie, anyone who’s a fashion addict has seen it (at least I think so); it is an old classic. If I say old classic, you might already think there is a new classic. Yes, there is. “The devil wears Prada” is the new classic in my opinion, but correct me if I’m wrong.

As for the series, I have selected the fiction “Gossip Girl” and the less-fiction (yet I wouldn’t call it reality) “The Hills“. GG is the Land of Canaan for the fashionistas/dandies (long live Chuck Bass), while the Hills produces almost the same effect on the other side of the continent, in a less likeable frame for a lot of people (poor acting – not that I would be amazed by Blake Lively’s acting qualities – and Spencer).

I’ve used only the last 8 episodes of GG but the whole fifth season of the Hills.

Now I shut up and show those screencaps! Click to continue!
