Shoes, MTV VMA 2010, Betsey Johnson NYFW

15 Sep

Sooo…fashion week is all over the place, and with many other things to do as well, I have little time to post and visit your inspiring blogs. Sorry for that, I’ll change that soon.

Okay, let’s begin with the simple shoe-spotting. I think that this time, the shoes match the image of their respective owners.

Slightly extreme heels for a rather extreme lady.

Sexy yet somewhat elegant – both the shoe and Carmen.

Way over average, right?

Doesn’t look special but it surely is – Katie and her Stuart Weitzman nude stiletto.

Two collages of styles seen at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards:

Any opinions about the outfits?

As the last part of this post, I just can’t avoid posting something Fashion Week-related. Here are a few pictures of the funniest, hottest, most spectacular show so far. Who else would be behind all this than Betsey Johnson?!

Part 2:

I hope to post again on Friday, there is certainly a lot to talk about!

Fashion’s Night Out; NYFW begins!

9 Sep

After all the long days of waiting, finally it has begun. One of the most anticipated events of the year, the New York Fashion Week has begun, and thanks to online streams, even I, living thousands of kilometers away from NYC, can enjoy most of the shows live.

I can’t chat neither with Anna Wintour nor with Emmanuelle Alt while sitting in the front row, but thanks to Twitter I can chat with many fashion lovers. However, I wouldn’t say “no” next year if I happened to be invited to one or two shows 🙂

Let’s start with the pictures, shall we?

A few days before NYFW’s kick-off, Fashion’s Night Out was the event to attend (for example both in NY and in London). The following pictures are from the location in New York:

(Anna W can’t get rid of these shoes despite her toes don’t fitting in.)

Blake Lively wore Christian Louboutin heels.

Ashley Tisdale gets invited to a fashion event. Okay, I shut up.

Part of my daily dose of models:

Oh dear Lord, how did you create her? You’ve done an awesome job!

She wore Louboutin heels, of course.

My other favorite of the night, Ms Blair…

…who happened to wear – guess what – Christian Louboutin.

One of the first shows of NYFW was streamed, it was the one by Christian Siriano. I had pretty high expectations regarding the shoes, mainly because he has amazed us previously with many marvelous creations. He did not disappoint me – and though I don’t know much about dresses (I can decide whether I like it or not, nothing else), I have to say I like what I saw.

What have I seen? Luckily for you, I have a few pictures from the show 😉

That’s all for now! My weekend is pretty much full of programs, I’m not sure when I can post again but I’ll do my best.

I don’t know if it’s appropriate to say Happy Fashion Week! or not 🙂

PS.: As there won’t be many more votes about the question whether it’s okay to wear boots in summer or not, I tell you that the results so far are 53% yes and 47% no. Looks like my readers are basically undecided on this topic! I didn’t expect the results to be so close! Now we know: you can’t go wrong with boots in summer! 😀

2. Stuart Weitzman Launches Company-Owned Website with New Contemporary Look

Their statement says, The website showcases the merchandise with modern details like 360 degree rotation with zoom, in motion video featuring styles on a model, fit and care tips as well as trend boutiques. It boasts new, advanced technologies like single page checkout and user-friendly navigation and movement, making the site both fun and easy to shop.”

3. News from Jimmy Choo and the renaissance of the pointy toe

Though summer might be over, one could use these pairs on nights that aren’t too cold:

During the Fall/Winter shows this spring, we could see that pointy toe pumps will be having a renaissance. Prada, Giles, Louis Vuitton, Valentino and a few more brands decided to bring it back. We could say it’s official since Jane of Sea of Shoes already showed her pair by Prada.

In case you don’t like these brands, you could buy your pair at Jimmy Choo:

or at Stuart Weitzman:

4. Indirect shoe ads

The best place to promote shoes, however, must be television. No wonder that guests in various talk shows appear always pretty, wearing trendy shoes. Here’s a little compilation of them.

Kim Cattrall on Fallon wearing Brian Atwood:

Scarlett Johansson on Leno wearing Christian Louboutin:

Amber Valletta on Lopez wearing Nicholas Kirkwood:

Kim Kardashian on Leno wearing YSL:

Kim also uses Twitter very well to promote herself in the first line and this time also Christian Louboutin. You can see her in this outfit on the new cover of Prestige magazine.

Emma Roberts on Leno back in February, HQ picture:

Jessica Alba in HQ as well:

Megan Fox on Leno wearing Sergio Rossi, HQ picture:

A high quality picture of her having a good time with Conan:

That’s all for now, have a nice weekend!

Shoes on TV

17 Jun

This post is supposed to be anything but regular. After doing some research, I present you a few moments of broadcasting in which it’s all about the shoes.

Let’s start with the USA and Kelly Ripa from the show Regis & Kelly:

Does anybody think it’s serious?

/The last capture is from another day. Is that Bruno Tonioli?\

Another workout video, this time it’s hard training:

A short video about what she’s wearing:

An old moment from another American TV host, Robin Meade, whose (shoe)wardrobe at the studio must be huge btw:

Another show from 2007. Have you ever had a pair like this?

How about wearing different shoes at the same time? 😀 Michelle Beadle:

I know, it’s weird. But let’s see some very weird stuff, how about Lili Estefan?

Just what is going on there? 😀

Now it’s time to fly over to Europe and let’s see what the Germans have for us.

Two hosts of the same show, obsessed with shoes every now and then.

Video of Annemarie Warnkross (0:48-1:08):

A video of the scene with her in the blue skirt, (1:15-end):

Edit: The Germans took this thing about copyright very seriously, so I had to remove this video. Looks like they don’t like to be – basically – advertised for free. I wonder why the video of Annemarie could stay online, it’s the same company!

If Lili Estefan did crazy things, what about Marlene Lufen?

Start – 0:45:

Her co-host Simone Panteleit in “Frühstücksfernsehen” doesn’t always finish dressing up in time either. The second series show the problems of pregnancy.

Last one for this post, another host, Verena Wriedt makes a guest appearance and for some reason her shoes are the talking point. Maybe because the premiere of Sex and the City 2 was at the time:

Credit to the original artists!

Any thoughts? 🙂
